Canberra Environment and Sustainability Resource Centre
The CESRC is currently developing its "Food for Life" project. This project address regional and global food issues by promoting local food production and consumption for healthy, sustainable communities.
Currently underway is a project to assist organisations in establishing community gardens. The Centre's resident gardener, with over 20 years of experience, is available to help design, plant, and maintain these gardens.
Also available are Edible Garden "Starter Kits" which include seed for eight herbs and vegetables ideal for growing in space restricted Canberra gardens. The pack is full of information on topics such as soil, mulch, and grey-water.
At the Environment Centre we can help you succeed in growing your own food, even if you thought you didn't have the time or the space.
The Environment Centre is open to the public and there is much to see, including small space demonstration gardens, an evolving instalment titled "When the Oil Runs Out", and an extensive reference library.
