ACT Herpetological Association (ACTHA) www.actha.org.au   Herpetologists study reptiles and amphibians (frogs).  The groups runs monthly meetings, periodic field trips and also has a newsletter.
ACT Landcare http://www.actlandcare.org/ (02) 6207 9777 ACT Landcare includes Parkcare, Urban Landcare, Rural Landcare, Waterwatch and Catchment groups.  It aims to address issues such as soil degradation, animal pests, weeds, vegetation loss, stream bank erosion, water quality and urban land degradation.

ACT WaterWatch http://www.act.waterwatch.org.au/default.htm (02) 6207 2246 Each catchment group in the ACT (Ginninderra, Southern ACT and Molonglo) has their own WaterWatch project that involves community volunteers in water quality monitoring across the ACT.  The ACT also has a WaterWatch Coordinator who coordinates the collection of data and reporting.

Weekly walks.  Field trips and workshops. Biannual plant sale.  Biannual Weedswap event.
Canberra Organic Growers Society (COGS) http://www.cogs.asn.au/ info@cogs.asn.au Provides a forum for organic growers to swap information.  Monthly meetings with guest speakers.  Operates community gardens where an individual can buy a plot in the garden and contribute to the planting and maintenance and reap the produce.  Quarterly magazine.  Planting guides for the seasons.  Website provides a list of where to buy organic produce and equipment for growers.  Organises trips to local organic farms, seminars and workshops.
